I doubt this is very close to the vampire myth as we know it in Europe, still there is a good view of the myth in general, about the tendencies for the forbidden things and maybe this is very close to as we see the strigoi myth in Romania also from this point of view.



Another interesting sociologically thing is the fact that the modern society and technology are changing the individual and it`s rural old mythology. The old myths die or transforms and new ones are born. The old ones are better be remembered somehow both for their historical and what they teach us for the future, but also for their strange beauty and the depth of their metaphor(s).
